Handling ships involves management of various assets, which comes with a huge risk of equipment failure. Effectively planned maintenance is therefore, crucial as it leads to elimination of accidental risks and high costs of reactive maintenance leading to keeping your ships in operation.
RetroNET FMS provides a reliable ship management system.
Our system reduces risks of:
Unnecessary downtime and
Unexpected costs occurring due to unforeseen defects.
The technical aspect of our system comprehends functionality for maintenance of the vessel’s engine, deck, electrical, and specialised sections.
Interface
We give you a simple and intuitive user interface to organise quick functions on graphical tiles. In addition, you get detailed access to gather overall maintenance status of your ship.
Highlights
Easily identify critical jobs with the help of color-coded markers.
Highlight job based on the job’s schedule.
Filters: A set of powerful filters allows quick sifting through the available data set for rapidly reaching the required information.
Our technical module deals with the management of various categories of maintenance jobs while allowing the easy filling of reports for meeting compliances.
Our Planned Maintenance system enables you to monitor and maintain every set of activity surrounding your vessels. It:
Lists all planned maintenances of the vessel, to be done as per a time-bound or event-based schedule with each of their own respective interval periods.
Feature to drill down through the component list and find component/ system-wise jobs.
Displays jobs as per their status – Critical, Due, Postponed, and O With visual identification for CSM jobs, Overhauls, critical jobs, critical components. Etc.
Due date estimation for Time-based jobs with the help of the integrated machinery counter management system.
Allows job allocation to crew as per rank seniority to maintain compliance.
Offers easy identification of required maintenance along with the usage of its spares and their current stock status through a connected inventory management module.
Printable job card with work procedure for carrying a physical copy to the actual job site.
Vessel staff can raise postpone requests and send to office for approval.
Easy one click requisition generation for spare parts with lower stocks for efficiently carrying out maintenance.
The defect reporting system monitors all the unforeseen occurrences/ ad-hoc maintenances on the vessel. It lists down maintenance jobs and schedules the pending tasks relating to it.
The system:
Categorises, report and provides follow ups on defect jobs.
Execute and track affected PMS jobs along with the defects to keep the PMS system in line with defects occurred.
Filter and identify major defects/ different type of defects.
Displays jobs as per their status – Critical, Due, Postponed, and Overdue.
Alarm and trips section is designed to test the vessel’s sensors and engineering safety equipment to ensure their functioning status. The alarm and trip function allows direct entry of values. The function graphically displays historical test values for determining the health status of the sensors, or otherwise.
Megger tests are system-generated checks designed to determine insulation values for electrical fittings. As soon as the megger test is complete, the function graphically displays historical values for their existing status.
In case of emergency shutdown of vessels, this Shutdown and Immobilization module is your go to section. It is digital system, which can be remotely handled by the shore authorities. It is integrated within the planning board of the technical module and is designed to process the shutdown request.
It provides authority to the personnel to do risk assessment using the software itself. The user can also raise additional extension request using the same panel.
Benefits
Enables crew members of the vessel to evaluate risks.
Authorities on the ship can approve/disapprove shutdown request remotely.
Eliminates hassles of manual filling process reducing paper wastage.
Schedule, view, and edit planned and unplanned maintenance. Add start dates, end events, and create timelines.
Finish pending maintenances before upcoming audit or inspection or before undertaking a long voyage.
Assign repair team to maintenances along with the person responsible.
Request for shore assistance from the planning board and raise service requisitions.
Raise shutdown immobilisation request and send to office for approval.
Review and reschedule maintenances as per dynamic business requirements.
Evaluate comprehensive risks
Use the inbuilt risk matrix template to jump-start the evaluation process.
Add more points for fine-tuning to your requirements/ the current situation.
Mitigate risk and stay in compliance.
Plan spares for upcoming jobs
Check for availability within the onboard stores, or place comprehensive order in case the spares require procurement.
Add complete traceability to spares, right down to the identity of the storage bin.
Complete reports with evidence adhering to all regulatory compliances.
Submit report for approval by higher authorities.
The system provides job approval authority to personnel’s in command viz. the vessel superintendent. The superintendent then has the authority to either approve or reject while asking for further documentation, images, etc. at their own discretion.
Central management holds the authority to add, delete or modify different set of tasks in a single window. If maintenances use identical work procedures, they are all updated automatically, at the same time. Single source of updates reduces the size of data packets and economises on the expensive maritime Internet bandwidth.
Service and Repair Requisitions module, available to office users is a centralized database to handle all kinds of support requests by the vessels. It contains details about history, equipment (Spares/Stores) information, service status, supplier detail and all requisitions are presented in sections viz active, purchased, delivered, on hold and rejected. It contains a tracker with list of documents and activities along with budgets available.
If a vessel identifies errors in planned maintenances or defect reports, they can simply raise an escalation within the dashboard. The system enables them to raise a service request.
Service and Repair Requisitions dashboard provides support in
Vendor evaluation
Sending quotations to multiple vendors in one go and
Do a final selection on the basis of market evaluation of the service/request
Purchase Order Generation
Award Purchase orders to a workshop based on various criteria such as service delivery time, quoted price etc.
Work History stores complete service history of a vessel. The access can be regulated as per personnel authority. It provides complete list of jobs scheduled for a specified time. It’s a simple dashboard with filters to rapidly locate the service history of any part, or a job, for a quick review as well as an easy ability to track all aspects of the job, including the number of times it was performed along with all evidences such as reported forms, attached documents, photographs etc.

Technical overview is a simple and independent module that generates reports in One-Click. The section comes to great help at the time of audits and surveys when the entire evaluation is based on the reports on the history of the vessels performance. Obviously when the top management is not available on the ship all the time, these reports become a crucial element for judgment. All of the vessel’s components are compiled in a single report, which can be viewed/downloaded at the discretion of the top management.
These are features of technical overview that enables top management to verify actions taken by the crew members:
Reports data can be converted into excel spreadsheet, pdf, html, word,
or view in system software readily.
Reports can be customised on the bases of the top management’s analysis.
Reports can be generated for a single or multiple vessels at the same time thus aiding superintendents with all possibilities of planning and working.
Reports such as class components jobs (Machinery & Equipment) (due/overdue critical or non-critical jobs), planned maintenance, unplanned and defects reporting, completed jobs, spare stocks,
requisition, and crew status onboard can easily be generated.
